The Mental Health and Justice Initiative is a partnership program with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and 4 Lead agencies:
- LOFT Community Services
- CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association)
- COTA Health
- Houselink Community Homes
OUR PRIMARY GOAL:
To provide rapid, coordinated entry to safe, dignified housing:
- Self contained units
- Support for individuals with recent involvement in the criminal justice system
- Rent Geared to Income
- The tenant is protected and is responsible under the Tenant Protection Act
TARGET POPULATION:
- Serious mental illness
- Current involvement in the criminal justice system
- Homeless or potentially homeless
- Individuals who are likely to live safely supported in the community with minimal assistance
